Emily Outhwaite
‘ A mixed-media artist, my work explores my interest in the ideas of aesthetics. Interested in using and combining a diverse range of media across Art and Design I seek to create aesthetically appealing and intriguing visual images. Constantly collecting and sourcing objects and images of interest; these are my sources of inspiration. Continual themes such as layering and translucency run throughout my work. Much of my work uses materials that have these translucent qualities or have been manipulated to possess such qualities. Design is an important element of my work, I am particularly specific about how I choose to present my pieces. I like to create installation-like pieces out of my assembled work that allows people to interact with the work as well as regard it.’
Lucinda Hankin
‘ I have always had an interest in thread and its qualities; my work is based around this. Using personal meaning and imagery, working with text and simple line drawings I produce a range of pieces varying from animation to instillation.’
Adriano Di Gaudo
‘ As an installation artist, my practice concerns making site-specific work that interacts with the space it inhabits. Usually my work aims to re present the materials and found objects it employs, using them to form installation or sculpture which has underlying themes and concepts. I intend to focus on aesthetics which in turn allows an audience to discover the underlying message in my work that can be received on different levels. Throughout my work re presentation of objects or recycling the nature of normal mundane things tends to be the basis on which I work.’
Lucy Alexandra Tomkinson
‘ As a decorative artist my work is based around interior design and pattern and I like to use this to express the temporary state and limited life span that all things have. Decoration is an integral part to society, whether it is interior design, clothing or something more subversive such as graffiti.’
Eleanor Marechal
‘ A visual artist, I work in a variety of mediums including film, animation, photography, sound and illustration. My work focuses on multiples, layers and overlaps and the relationship between sound and the visual. I use a combination of manual techniques, hand drawn content and handmade aesthetics combined with the capabilities of digital sequencing, editing and mixing.’
Georgia Bailey
‘ I predominately work within my sketchbook, drawing with pencil and ink on small-scale observations that reflect my surroundings and illustrate my thoughts. My sketchbook travels with me wherever I go, to capture and record. I look and listen for words, incorporating text into my drawings. I like to take photos of images and compositions that I find interesting.’
